As we approach our 100th anniversary in 2021, we look back with gratitude at the support and engagement that you, our members, have shown to keep visible the contributions of Asian Americans in the United States. We have kept our dues extremely low so that all may join.

The Chinese-American World War II Veteran Congressional Gold Medal Act recognizes the 20,000 Chinese-American veterans who served despite the Chinese Exclusion Act which forbid citizenship at the time. We are searching for those veterans and their families. Please contact us and visit
Registered an additional 263 voters, trained 12 new civic engagement translators in Cantonese and Mandarin, provided assistance in translation and completion of 179 ballots, most first time voters 60+ years or older with over 30+ years of citizenship. (Partially funding provided by APANO grant).
Provided $1200 in support to low income Chinese elders served by the Asian Health & Service Center to brighten their winter holidays.
The 27th Asian American Youth Leadership Conference, “Be Real”, engaged 300+ students at Portland Community College, Sylvania.
Awarded over $7000 in local scholarships for college bound seniors. Additional national essay scholarships and Walter U Lum scholarship awarded to Portland Lodge in 2018-19.
Partnered with the Oregon Historical Society to present the documentary “Abacus- Small Enough to Jail” with skype discussion following the showing with the Sung family, owners of Abacus, a family owned community bank in Manhattan.
Partnered with Portland Chinatown Museum to support their programming and events. Read and submit stories here:
Provided class and language services for hospitality workers to attain OLCC (Oregon Liquor Control Commission) license.
